Kirby
A handsome fella

As a total newbie in the world of Blender modeling, I decided to kick things off with a simple project. My goal was to get the hang of putting 3D shapes together to create something cool. I settled on a cute and straightforward idea – crafting Kirby, that lovable round character made up of mostly spheres. But, just to make it a bit more challenging, I wanted Kirby to wear a costume, like he'd just gained some special superpower. And that's how 'Mexican Kirby' came to life, complete with a Tecate beer can and a classic cowboy hat. As a bonus, this project helped me wrap my head around UV Wrapping for the can's texture.

One thing that happened during this creative journey was the way Kirby's eyes turned out. They ended up looking like stickers or decals. In reality, I used 2D planes to create this effect, which aren't supposed to cast shadows. I did eventually figure out how to disable shadows for these eyes, but, to be honest, I thought they added a unique charm, so I left them as is.

Looking back, I'm pretty pleased with my first attempt at 3D modeling. Although, I have to admit, the background terrain did turn out a bit blocky and strange.
